When it comes to dive sites, Raycrew focuses on quality over quantity, showcasing the lagoon's healthier reefs. Highlights include the "Enemanit Wrecks" off Enemanit Island, where a plane, helicopter and shipwreck encrusted with patches of coral sit at recreational depths of 16-50 ft (5 to 15 m). The tide-dependent "Aquarium" site rewards patient visitors with sharks, jackfish and napoleonfish, while "Mountain" and "No. 9" offer a dramatic coral formation from 6 ft (2 m) dropping to around 100 ft (30 m) and "Heaven's Hill" is a sandy area scattered with large and small coral heads.

The boat charter offers everything from fishing trips and snorkelling tours to island-hopping picnics and scuba diving, all led by a local conservationist who happens to be the only Marshallese scuba instructor in Majuro.

The full-day fishing charter runs for up to six passengers with all gear included and a meal on board, whether that's sandwiches or something freshly grilled out on the water. Trolling is the specialty, with targets including skipjack tuna, yellowfin, mahimahi, wahoo, barracuda and the occasional marlin.

Prefer to spend the day on a remote island? The island-hopping and picnic drop-off option leaves at 9 am and picks you back up at 5 pm, with snorkelling stops at spots known for giant clams.

Scuba divers are also well catered for, with occasional dive tours and open water courses available through Salty Services' partnership with dive operator, Raycrew.

Bokanbotin Island Resort runs a dedicated snorkelling boat charter to a secluded reef past the channel, one that sees very few visitors and is large enough that you could spend two to three hours exploring it and still not see it all.

The reef is shallow and vibrant, teeming with marine life, and snorkelling masks and some fins are provided. The half-day charter is exclusively for you and your group, offering a truly special private experience.

Tours run on demand and are typically scheduled around you unless the weather or other unforeseeable circumstances have anything to say.

For those with more experience, Bokanbotin also offers nighttime freediving and lobstering, strictly reserved for divers who have completed night dives before and are comfortable being separated from others underwater.

Another excellent and flexible snorkelling tour is with Hang Loose, a local boat charter offering fishing charters, sunset cruises and even multi-day expeditions. Your best option for snorkelling is around the Majuro Lagoon, as long as you have your own gear, Hang Loose has the knowledge.

Hire a solo or two-person kayak, a paddleboard or snorkelling gear (fins, mask and snorkel) and head out wherever you like, though they recommend the lagoon near the Airport or Delap Park are two of the best spots on the atoll for a paddle or an underwater look around.

Back on land, mountain bikes with suspension are available for both adults and children, complete with helmets and safety equipment. Feeling a little more adventurous? Automatic mopeds are also on offer for riders aged 18 and above, with helmets provided and delivery available to your accommodation.
